THE toilets at Bourne Wood have been closed because of costs.
The Forestry Commission closed the public toilets, putting the decision down to the cost of keeping them in good repair.
A spokesman for the Forestry Commission said: "We are waiting for results from the recent public consultation and assessing what people would like."
A report is due to be drawn up on the results of the consultation, which took place in August.
Friends of Bourne Wood member Sarah Roberts said: "There will be problems for people who come for the day and have a picnic, and what do people do when there are events?
"They were grotty toilets but they were better than none."
Plans for a bypass road through part of the wood had included a new visitors' centre but talks between developers Larkfleet Homes and the Forestry Commission were abandoned following public opposition to the scheme earlier this year.
