MORE than 60 children made the most of a free football session.
The event was one of a series organised by youth group Teenzone and police community support officer David Vines.

He said: “The young people of Stamford have done us proud in the way that they’ve joined in and behaved and I am really looking forward to seeing them again and hopefully others in future sessions.”

Teenzone manager Jenny Wright said youngsters could just turn up. She said: “We want everyone to come along, regardless of their skills and ability, to get involved and have fun.”

She thanked Precision Sports for donating tops and footballs and New College Stamford for allowing the use of its floodlit pitch.

There will be more sessions next Wednesday. One starts at 6pm for children between nine and 12 and another at 7.30pm for 13 to 16-years-olds.

For more details call Jenny on 07894571209.
