Crowds flock for lights switch-on

SPIRITS were high despite dreary weather for Market Deeping's annual Christmas market on Sunday.
Father Christmas pulled into town on his sleigh to make an appearance, waved on by the crowds. Then he disappeared into his grotto in the Market Place.
Mayor Pauline Redshaw and Deeping Carnival Queen Sian Stirling flicked the switch to turn on the festive lights in Market Deeping town centre.
Dave the Clown larked about with youngsters as they attempted to hunt down Rudolph, who was hiding in one of the shop windows.
The Deepings School, Market Deeping and neighbouring William Hildyard primary schools and Ark Line Dancers entertained shoppers.
Town council clerk Mandy Ford said that despite the wet weather the day was a success and feedback had been positive.
