Mrs Helen Powell initially sponsored and arranged a well attended meeting at The Corn Exchange on Thursday, June 19, to allow residents of Boston, Spalding, Stamford and local people, who all enjoy the Bourne Woods, to express their concerns regarding the proposed devastation to Bourne Woods.
All these people have to travel to Bourne Woods because there are no other woodlands locally to them.

As a resident of Bourne I wish to extend my appreciation and thanks to the Quentin Davies MP, who chaired the evening most competently.

Thank you to the director for local area Forestry Commission, Kevin Stannard, who both answered several searching questions and provided some much-needed information. They both stayed long after the meeting concluded to speak to all who queued with further questions.

Thank you to South Kesteven District Council planning policy manager, Jeff Clarke, and Coun Linda Neal, for explaining local government's legal standing. Thank you to the representative of Woodlands Trust Grahame Bradley, whose knowledge of relevant affairs was much appreciated.

To the Friends of Bourne Wood and to all the residents who attended, thank you.

MR E CLARK
St Peter's Road,
Bourne
