Two letters in last week's Mercury caught my eye.
One was from Joyce Stevenson, of Thurlby, who asked "Where has all the money gone?" and the other was from Nick Craft, a district councillor who wrote that "the Government may play fast and loose with your money but this Conservative council will not."

I have in front of me a statement from a cabinet member of the district council which reads "that approval is granted for expenditure of £5,145.91 from the Town Centre Initiative Programme is used towards the installation of railings along Church Walk, Bourne."

The next paragraph reads "That approval is granted to support the Welland Subregional Strategic Partner-ship with a grant allocation of £43,290 for the financial year 2008/2009 from the economic development town centre consultancy project budget." Interesting reading, don't you think?
