Linda Neal asks the public to suggest where savings could be found to fund unlimited free travel.
I suggest she takes a good look at the council she leads. There has never been any shortage of funds to provide perks for councillors.

There are many scopes for saving taxpayers' money. How about councillors' perks and expenses, many seem to think
they are MPs and taxpayers owe them a living.

Time to go back to unpaid councillors and make them account for the expenses they claim.

The top man in the council can go away for six months and not be missed, one of three department heads can leave and it is found that he is not missed and will not be replaced, why three in the first
place?

How many departments could be closed and far from being missed would actually make things more efficient.

Do we need a town centre manager? Did we need to spend almost £2m to destroy our town centre. Planners who can plan, cabinet members who have no idea what they are doing or talking about – the list is endless.

The obvious answer is to get rid of district councils and ours in particular.

This won't happen at the moment, but will have to come. We are all fed up with corrupt national and local government, fed up with tinpot dictators and fed up with being taken for mugs. Time to turn the clock back to 1972.
