May I, on behalf of the Karen Ball Fund trustees, thank everyone who took part in the sponsored cycle ride around the Norfolk coast in aid of the fund.
Special thanks must go to Castle Cement employees and their friends and all who supported the cyclists.

Their efforts raised £8,365 and it will be spent wisely for the benefit of the residents of Rutland.

The Karen Ball fund was set up in 1988
and is still going strong today.
Over the years the fund has raised more than £250,000 to provide care for the terminally ill of Rutland.

Its work is so important in responding to local needs with specialist equipment and care and it covers every age group and circumstance.

In the past the fund has created a special care unit, palliative care suite and counselling room at Rutland Memorial Hospital and has responded with equipment for care in the home. In some cases care can be provided as a same day service.

With the help of the people of Rutland and surrounding areas, who give so freely of their time and money, the Karen Ball Fund will continue to respond quickly and sympathetically to specific needs for the whole of the county.

If anyone knows of someone who could benefit from their services please contact the secretary Jim Bolton on 01572 755718.

Our sincere thanks, once again, to everyone who took part in the cycle ride to raise the money for a worthy Rutland Cause.

Joyce Lucas
Fund trustee,
Lonsdale Way,
Oakham
